| On February 24th 2026, the West Islip Fire Department responded on mutual aid to the West Babylon Fire Department for a working structure fire at the Fairfield apartment complex.
Due to the fire’s location in the rear of the complex, access was limited, requiring coordinated operations from multiple sides of the building. Crews assisted with fire suppression efforts and supported interior operations as tenants were safely evacuated. Approximately five units were impacted by the fire.
Crews operated on scene for a little over an hour.
